Springing

by Lynne Nesbit

The sky is spectacular!
Storm petrol clouds dissolve into a pale azure to the east
while the westerly light
illumines new-polished peridot trees against its backdrop.
In the foredrop hangs the citrine light of rape.
No-one would believe a faithful artist’s palette
“Trying too hard”, they’d say.
An emerald sea of spring wheat springs through the soil.
“Spring” is the word – noun describing action.
The accrual of every nature’s notion tied together,
obedient to the one intention – RENEWAL!
