Beyond the Ceiling

On the ceiling two parallel streams of light
sparkling spectra           rose red
blending with apricot orange,
followed by the yellow of the sun,
spilling into growing green,
the indigo blue of intimacy.

Two lying abreast –
equal in length, strength       and radiance:
above on the rainbow-reflecting ceiling
below those in the sheet-crumpled bed
            their morning place of meeting
breathing in, breathing out.

Coming together           glowing orange,
sharper lime green, more delicate blue
one ray emerges.
Coming together          desire and harmony
soar skyward as bodies entwine
their life-force fused.
