Event Description

James McDermott's poetry collections include 'Father Myself' (Nine Arches Press), 'Wild Life' (Nine Arches Press; longlisted for the New Angle Prize; shortlisted for the East Anglian Book Award), 'Erased' (Polari Press) and 'Manatomy' (Burning Eye Books; longlisted for Polari's First Book Prize). James's poems have been widely published in magazines and journals including Poetry Wales, Butcher's Dog, Magma, Fourteen Poems and Southword. James is an Arvon writing tutor and lecturer in creative writing at the University of East Anglia.

Where is the venue?

The venue is at the Riverside Centre, Great Glemham Road, Stratford St. Andrew, Saxmundham, IP17 1LL. Please nore - the Riverside Centre is on the opposite side of the road from the location shown in Google Maps. 

How long will the workshop be?

The workshop will start at 10.30 am and end at 1pm, with a break of half an hour. 

Is there disabled access?

Yes, the venue is easily accessed. Please contact the organisor on 07843444151 if you wish to discuss this further. 

Will refreshments be available?

Yes, water will be avaiable throughout the workshop, and tea, coffee, biscuits and maybe cake will be available during the break. 

Who is the workshop aimed at?

The workshop is aimed to inspire all that attend the workshop - whether you are a novice or an experienced poet. 

I'm not a member of Suffolk Poetry Society - can I still attend?

If you're not a member you'll still be very welcome although you'll have to pay the slightly higher price of £26.
