You can join at any time of the year, but all memberships are for the year from 1 January to 31 December. Memberships bought after 1 October of the year run until 31 December of the following year.

Two types of membership are available.

• Single @ £18.00/annum: for one person.
• Joint @ £23.00/annum: for two people living at the same address.

Members receive our highly praised Twelve Rivers magazine twice a year. Contributions of poems and articles are welcome from members.

A hugely popular fortnightly e-newsletter, Twelve River Ripples, was begun during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. This is solely for members and consists of member contributions.

Members may have access to past issues of all of these by registering an account on this website.

The typical programme of annual events consists of workshops, a day-long festival, readings, and Desert Island Poems.

Members receive discounts to SPS events and workshops.

SPS has held the annual Crabbe poetry competition since 1954, which is open to all who were born, educated or live in Suffolk or are SPS members. The competition for 2021 ends on the 15 June.
